Semper Fides creates your personal diamond from a carbon source (ashes, hair, or… ) – the PUREdiamond. Each of these memorial diamonds is unique just as unique as the four-legged friend from which it was created.
We only need 5 grams of hair or 300 grams of cremation ash for your memorial diamond. The basis of all life – carbon – becomes a unique diamond for all time.

PUREdiamond – more than just a diamond!
PUREdiamond - the memorial diamond
Your personal animal diamond is created exclusively from the carbon in the ashes, hair or feathers of your dog, cat, horse or bird that you provide us with. To preserve the uniqueness of your diamond, we do not add carbon from other sources!
If you do not have at least 5 grams of hair or feathers or 300 grams of ash (equivalent to approx. 10 kilograms of live weight), there are various ways to create your PUREdiamond:
- The combination of hair and ash, for example
- Adding extracted carbon from personal sources, such as your pet’s favorite toy or collar
- The combination of different ashes or hair samples
- Adding your own hair

The animal diamond from Semper Fides – What is our organism made of?
Our bodies and that of our four-legged friends consists predominantly of carbon (C), oxygen (O), hydrogen (H), nitrogen (N), calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), sulphur (S), chlorine (Cl), sodium (Na) and magnesium (Mg). All other elements are only present in the body in trace amounts. The proportion of carbon in the organism is around 20 percent by weight.

PUREdiamond - your personal unique piece
The PUREdiamond grows from the individual carbon source provided to us. The characteristics of your personalised, unique diamond – such as its purity, proportions and weight – are determined during the growth phase of the PUREdiamond.
You determine the base colour of your PUREdiamond. The subtle nuances in which your personal PUREdiamond ultimately shines are determined by the carbon source and the growth process used.
The colour of a diamond is created by the incorporation of individual chemical elements into the crystal lattice of the diamond, such as nitrogen or boron. The difference in the incorporation of a few atoms can lead to large differences in colour intensity.
Thanks to the process we have specially developed, the incorporation of nitrogen from the air is prevented during the formation of white and blue diamonds. In addition to carbon, minimal trace elements from the carbon source provided to us are sometimes incorporated into the crystal lattice and can be found as inclusions in the diamond. These inclusions make your PUREdiamond unique.
The majority of Semper Fides diamonds have a clarity grade higher than SI1 (Small Inclusions). However, due to the special origin of the carbon, this grade cannot be guaranteed. We can produce white, blue and yellow diamonds for you.

What is a memorial diamond?
When a beloved pet leaves us, it usually means we have to say goodbye to a member of the family. It leaves a void in our lives that outsiders often cannot understand. A memorial diamond made from the ashes or hair of your four-legged companion transforms this memento into something lasting—it makes it, quite literally, wearable—close to your heart.
Is a memorial diamond a real diamond?
Yes. A pet diamond from Semper Fides has the same physical, chemical, and optical properties as a naturally formed diamond. But its story is much more personal. Every PUREdiamond—whether it comes from your dog, your cat, or, for example, your beloved horse—is just as unique and special as its origin.
Is a diamond the same as a gemstone?
In short: No. Every diamond is a gemstone, but not every gemstone is a diamond! Rubies, sapphires, and emeralds, for example, are gemstones. They are composed of aluminum oxides or silicates. These elements are not found in our bodies, so such gemstones cannot be formed from our bodies. A diamond, on the other hand, is made exclusively of carbon. That is why a memorial diamond is so special—because only a diamond can be grown from 100% of your pet’s organic material.
So is a gemstone less valuable?
Not necessarily—it ultimately comes down to the eye of the beholder. It doesn’t share the same personal origin as a diamond that has actually grown from the carbon of your beloved pet. A gemstone is a symbol—not an origin. A memorial diamond made from your pet’s ashes or hair isn’t merely a representation—it’s transformed!
What is a diamond burial?
